I thought it was holy water:Suspected pipeline vandal

Six suspected pipeline vandals were apprehended in Sagamu area of Ogun state. Salami Amodu, 65, Bruce Ekonen, Joseph Ofoeyeno, Francis Ode, Bruce Ekonen and Kola Ifatoye were arrested with about 100 gallons of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). They allegedly vandalized
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline at Idimagboro.

Salami Amodu, 65, who was, along with others arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Special
Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Unit, had this to say:
"I was on my way home when a man, popularly known as Alfa, stopped me. He promised to pay me N5000 per trip if I
can help him to carry 10 gallons of liquid. I thought it was water, so I did not bother to ask, since it's a good business.
It is possible that the water could be anointed since he wasready to pay as much as N5000.
"It was while we were on our way that I started to perceive the odour of fuel. I asked him and he told me that it was
fuel. I was so annoyed and I shouted at him for not telling me in the first place what was in the gallons. Initially, I
wanted to stop the car and ask him to off load the vehicle,but when I realized that we were almost close to hisdestination, I decided to continue. I am aware that vandals normally pass through that route that was why I was very angry with him.
"In that area, people go for prayers. Clerics come to that area to buy holy water to perform miracle. Most of the times when I am done with the day's job, especially if I did not
make much money, I will go down to the bush area to see if there is anyone who needs lift. I also ensure that I do not
carry vandals because those days when I used to help them,it landed me into trouble with security men. Although, there
is money to make in that business but the risk is much. This was why I stopped a long time ago till Alfa deceived me into
carrying fuel for him.
"I am very sorry. It is of no use denying that I was not involved because I was caught with the product. Life has
been unfair to me if not, at this age, why should I be hustling for money to feed and take care of my family. I am very sorry."
Another suspect, Joseph Ofoeyeno, claimed that his duty was just to transport the stolen products from the bush tothe buyers:"Initially I was buying directly from NNPC staff close to the
depot. Normally, NNPC staff will overload their trucks and sell the excess to us before preceding to off- load the rest
for the buyer. The place was however shot down when there was a fire outbreak. I had no choice than to patronize these vandals. I am sorry and I wish NNPC will be allowing those
their truck drivers to carry excess."
Bruce Ekonen stated he actually went to the bush to see a cleric for the gift of the fruit of the womb: "I have been
married for the past 8 years and my wife has not been able to conceive. I have tried my hands on different women
outside but none has ever returned with the good news that she is pregnant.
"I was actually on my way when I saw Francis and asked him for a lift. We were on our way to town when the police
arrested us. I was looking for the fruit of the womb not stolen fuel. I was even advising Francis to stay away from
illegal business of selling stolen product when the police arrested us."Confirming the arrest, Assistant Commissioner of Police Friday Ibadin, who is in charge of the Task Force, said,"Detectives led by Sector Commander, Lagos, DSP Onaghise
Osayande, laid ambush and nabbed these suspected vandals. It is worthy to remind Nigerians that ignorance is not an excuse. Both the seller and buyer of stolen products are liable. Meanwhile, the suspects would soon be arraigned in court at the end of investigation."

Pa Kasumu’s Colleagues At War Over N600,000 Donation As Actor Battles To Survive

As ailing actor, Kayode Odumosu, known as Pa Kasumu battle to survive cancer, some of his colleagues in the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP, are allegedly at loggerheads over N600,000 donation made by an Ogun State based businessman.According to report, after a certain businessman from Ogun State donated a sum of N600,000 to save the ailing Nollywood actor via some of his colleagues in ANTP some weeks back, there have been an unending chaos among the colleagues.It was gathered that Pa kasumu's colleagues were at loggerheads over what amount was to be given the ailing actor out of the sum as others disagreed with the decision.
Furthermore, a group of Nollywood practitioners that consists of production crew and veteran acts under the name of 'committee of friends' were said to have approached Pa Kasumu over creating a new account in which donations would be made but met a brick wall from the Odumosus.
Currently, a total sum of N5.5million naira has been donated to Pa Kasumu by the Lagos State Government and Ogun State Government as the ailing actor struggle to stay alive.
When contacted, members of the Odumosu family refused to comment, affirm or deny the tale and maintained that the most paramount and important issue to the family remains raising the remaining fund and saving the life of the ailing actor

The separation between Wande Coal and Don Jazzy or the MAVIN crew has always been on the cards since the release of KILAJU which was produced by Maleek Berry and on the stables of BlackDiamond Entertainment, an outfit managed by the Mushin born artist. It was further fuelled by the non-appearance of MAVIN on the video of ROTATE and many had quickly signed up with the fact that Wande Coal is either plotting his leave from the one year old media outfit or has already left, though trying to maintain a quitter approach unlike his former Mo’Hits colleague and ace entertainer, D’banj.
But the recent Twitter outburst has created more noise than ever as the song ‘BabyFace’ has generated more attention and produced more listeners than it would ordinary have as a song. First was the release of the
song by Wande Coal on his label on November 5 and then just immediately, Don Jazzy put his own up and accused his erstwhile colleague of intellectual property theft as he claimed that the song was his and was stolen
by the Black Diamond Entertainment chief. According to him: “How long will I continue to sweat and some people will choose to steal from me? I am nice and easy going does not mean you should disrespect me”- Don Jazzy

“I honestly expected you all to come at me for being childish. But enough is enough. Even if I send my legal

Our fathers say, it is only a fool that falls in the same pit twice, and more foolish, if its twice in a row.

The only thing that can support Wande is if he claims that he has not being paid for the services he has rendered for the past 10 years or that the contract he signed with Don Jazzy’s outfit has not been adhered to. Without that,
Wande Coal is the thief here and must be treated so! All attacks on Don Jazzy on his Twitter outburst only have emotional backings! Nothing more!!! He has the right to use his Twitter account any how he pleases and since it
is his personal account, has equal right of pouring out his mind, the same way you tell us that your lover broke up with you the previous night or your mother has just told you to go and grind pepper due to ASUU strike.
Legally, Don Jazzy has not crossed any line, whether or not we like it unless it is stated in a contract that Don Jazzy will not take to Twitter any of his discontent regarding MAVIN Records!If from indications, Don Jazzy is the owner of the song and Wande Coal has chosen to produce it without giving
due credit to its owner, then that simply puts Wande in the category of history’s worst set of thieves – the intellectual thief who steal people’s ideas and assume ownership! It would have been better if Wande Coal
stole Don Jazzy’s tangible property instead! If you don’t know how much a song might worth, you can simply ask K’naan on how much Waving Flag brought him or Tuface, how much African Queen has pulled him off the
grounds, or KCee on how much Limpopo revived his career!
While all accusations against Don Jazzy has been purely emotional or have a sentimental flavouring,Wande Coal should be reprimanded for infringements on the rights of Don Jazzy especially since it, according to
Don Jazzy, is not the first time! However, it is in the best of both parties, to settle their disagreements under
covers as it definitely, this recent outburst would have a huge effect on their careers, Don Jazzy being likely the worst victim especially in a world where people aregradually phasing out the memories of Mo’Hits Records
and with MAVIN records yet to make a resounding

Atlast 'ASUU strike to end next week.

There are strong indications that the protracted strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, that has crippled academic activities for over four months may end in the next one week.Sources at the Monday night meeting between the Federal Government led by President Goodluck Jonathan,the leadership of ASUU, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, said both the Federal Government and leaders of ASUU had shifted grounds and leaders of ASUU would meet with its organ (National Executive Council) to brief members of the outcome and then take necessary action.One of the sources said: "Both the Federal Government and the leadership of ASUU are now on the same page. Both parties have shifted grounds. The leadership of ASUU will now meet with its appropriate organ to brief its members and take the necessary action."ASUU is in the right position to inform the public after meeting with its organ. However, I can tell you that all things being equal, the strike should be over in the next one week."
The meeting between the government and the labour leaders started at about 2:30pm on Monday and ended at about 3:30am on Tuesday with a 15 minutes break.

A middle-aged man identified as Wasiu Yusuf has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his bosom friend, Adeolu Olatoye, to death for having clandestine relationship with his wife.

It was gathered that the incident which occurred at Oke-Efon area of Abeokuta, Saturday night, wasreportedly carried out by the suspect and one accomplice identified as Mukaila, said to be on the run as at the
time of this report.
It was further gathered that the suspect lost his temperament when he reportedly caught his 32 -year-old
friend with his wife on the day of the incident on his matrimonial bed.
The suspect, according to the findings, laid siege for the victim who reportedly came to his house, and in the
ensuing scuffle,the victim erroneously stabbed himself.
But another version of the story had it that, the victim had gone to his friend's house to drop an invitation
card of his mother's 80th birthday scheduled for Saturday when the friend attacked him with bottles.
Adeolu, a graphic artist, met his death barely two weeks after he held the naming ceremony of his child.
His remains had been deposited at the State Hospital Mortuary at Ijaiye, Abeokuta, as police await the
autopsy report.
Contacted, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and arrest
of the suspect, adding that investigation was ongoing.
Speaking, the deceased's elder brother, Akinyemi Olatoye, said he was shocked over the development,
explaining that his late brother had gone there to drop their mother's birthday invitation card.

Always in the news:Davido's Bouncer Beats Nu Grotto Club's Bouncer, DJ; Destroys Club Properties

It was a shameful scenario this morning at Nu Grotto, a club located near Cool FM in Victoria Island, Lagos,as a bouncer attached to controversial pop singer, Davido allegedly beat up the club's bouncer and DJ,destroying some properties of the club in the process.According to what we gathered, Davido was about leaving the club when the club's DJ identified as JD
picked up Davido's ATM card, which had fallen from him unnoticed, and then tried to hand it over to the
singer.As the DJ tried to get close to the singer to hand over the ATM card to him, he was stopped by Davido's
bouncer. This infuriated the DJ who then reportedly insulted the bouncer, which resulted into him getting
some slaps from the angry bouncer.
The bouncer didn't stop there as he went on to allegedly beat up the club's bouncer identified as Big Sam,and thereafter allegedly destroyed some drinks on the club's shelves. Four guests at the club were reportedly wounded in the incident

Still on the mysterious two BMW bulletproof cars... FG granted no duty waiver for bulletproof cars, says Okonjo- Iweala

The Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister for the
Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Monday said that the
Federal Government did not grant a duty waiver to Coscharis
Limited to purchase the two controversial bulletproof BMW cars for
the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).the cars were however alledged to have been for the personal use of the aviation minister princess Stella Oduah.
           The minister, who testified before the House of Representatives
Committee on Aviation in Abuja over the transaction which was
reported to have cost N255 million, said the bulletproof cars were
not among the 300 units of cars for which the Lagos State
government applied for waiver in favour of Coscharis Limited.

and a pirate-ish Jonny Depp - a David Beckham look-a-
like. Were it not for the three lions crest sewn on to
the handsome chap's blazer, sadly we'd have been

party-goers in New York were duped by the real David
Beckham over the weekend.
     It was reported that the retired footballing superstar Becks
popped into the Halloween Hangover party at the
Bowery Hotel in Manhattan during the early hours of
Sunday morning.
      Shunning a costume, he was one of few at the party
who had opted not to get dressed up, and this worked
in his favour. "What's your costume?" a fellow guest is
said to have asked the father-of-four. "I'm going as
David Beckham," cunningly replied a dressed-down
Beckham, who got the response: "Wow, you look just
like him!"
           To be honest, we didn't think Becks had it in him to be
so devious. Just goes to show that perhaps those look-a-
likes should always be written off so easily...

Davido slams waconzy:"You are angry cos i chased you out of my house"

The war of words started by 'Celebrate' crooner,Waconzy against 'original'   OBO', Davido is getting nasty as the 'skelewu' creator himself a twitter demon
has taken the 'Amusu' master to the cleaners.

The hostilities between both of them started two days ago when, on the
popular Channels Television entertainments talk show,
Rubbin’ Minds with Ebuka , Waconzy threw caution to
the winds and lashed out at Davido and rapper,
Olamide
           The iworiwo crooner reportedly said that the 'Skelewu' by Davido is not music and he also added that rapper,Olamide does not make sense in his music sometimes,This must have touched the sour side of David as the 'Globe' crooner fired back immediately via twitter that waconzy is only mad at him because he didn't allow him to enter his house.
        He then dropped the hammer on Waconzy by saying that Waconzy's last hit was when he (Davido) was in SS2....
Wow deep stuffs from Davido and am not sure that's going to go down well with Waconzy..Are we expecting another round?
